Our Outdoor Adventures include:
Activities change seasonally

Biking
Note:  All bicycling activities are tentative, depending on weather and trail conditions. The allotted time includes travel to and from the trailheads.

Trail Biking
Enjoy a guided afternoon adventure of trail biking at nearby Cobey Pond. A gradual half-mile uphill ride brings bikers to a 1.25 mile lakeside loop trail, allowing riders to travel at their own pace. Novice bikers will enjoy relatively level terrain, while more experienced riders can increase the challenge by adding more circuits around the lake to their workout. An enjoyable downhill ride brings bikers back to the finish.

Hiking

Note: The allotted hiking time includes transportation time to the trailheads.  Actual hiking time is about 2 hours.

Bruce Lake Natural Area
This 5 mile hike along Egypt Meadow Lake crosses a beautiful stonework dam, and then winds through rocks and boulders moved by glaciers 10,000 years ago. Marshlands here are home to many aquatic birds and animals. The hike continues on past unique rock formations to the glacially formed Bruce Lake before returning to the opposite side of Egypt Meadow Lake.

Cobey Pond
This moderate 5 mile hike begins along scenic Masthope Creek before making a gradual ascent up the ridge. At the top, the trail traverses the ridgeline to Cobey Pond, and then winds around the pond before descending through a mixed hardwood forest and a return to Masthope Creek. Located on Pennsylvania Game Lands, wildlife viewing opportunities are excellent.

Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary
Once home to glassmaker Christian Dorflinger this estate is now the home to an extraordinary 600 acre sanctuary. Enjoy a 3 mile hike through fields and open woods to two lakes. Wildflowers and bird watching opportunities are excellent.

Shuman Point Natural Area
Explore the 250 acres of Shuman Point Natural Area on a moderate 3 mile hike along the shores of Lake Wallenpaupack, one of the last undeveloped areas around the lake. The trails at Shuman Point meander through mixed forests and visit the lakeshore at several points, offering hikers a chance to observe waterfowl and beautiful lake views.

Tusten Mountain
Bluestone mining quarries and logging camps once dotted this area at the turn of the 20th century. This 3 mile hike offers challenging uphill terrain and traverses rocky outcroppings to a vista overlooking the Upper Delaware River. The trail then gently meanders through a diverse forest landscape. Now maintained by the Ten Mile River Boy Scout Reservation, this area is home to many birds and mammals.   Bald Eagle sightings near the river are not uncommon year round.

Kayaking

Note: Kayaking activities are offered from May through October pending water temperature and/or inclement weather.  Meet at our lakeside dock.

Wake-Up Kayak
Enjoy a leisurely paddle around our lake as the morning mist lifts and the wildlife welcomes a new day.   Let the calming sounds of the water and the strokes of paddle set your pace for the rest of the day.   One hour.

Sunset Kayak
Relax on the waters as the sun sets and the fish seek out the evening hatch or enjoy a vigorous paddle as the daylight fades. The choice is up to you. One hour.

Fitness Kayaking
Experience a great upper-body workout on our scenic Little Lake Teedyuskung through a series of unique drills and exercises focusing on stamina and maneuverability. Fun and challenging at the same time, it is ideal for novice and advanced kayakers alike. One and a half hours.

Open Kayaking
Our very own Little Lake Teedyuskung is a unique and rare ecosystem and a cranberry bog, home to many mammals and birds.  Kayaks are available and staff is on hand to assist so you may explore our beautiful lake at your own leisure.
