Erika Jurden, Wine Educator - June 23rd - 25th

Erika Jurden is a New Jersey native wielding a passion for the wine industry. Her interest stemmed from her parents love for wine country and storytelling. As the story goes her zest for the wine industry began during childhood, with the bedtime stories her father created based on the book “Mr. Boston’s Guide to Bartending.” Upon graduating from St. Joseph’s University, Erika began her career in the restaurant industry and in promotional modeling.  Utilizing the experience gained in these outlets, she joined the sales force at Capital Wine and Spirits. Looking to further her education, Erika became a Certified Specialist of Wine from the Society of Wine Educators in 2009. Her love of selling wine and telling stories, lead her to join the Francis Ford Coppola Winery as a District Manager. In 2015 she was asked to join the prestigious group Les Dames de E’scoffier – a group of influential women leaders in food, fine beverage, and hospitality industries. When asked what her favorite bottle of wine is, she will tell you it is the one she gets to share!

Judgement of Paris Wine Tasting ($)
3:00pm
41 years ago a blind wine tasting happened that revolutionized the wine industry. The tasting itself pitted classic French wines against California wines of the same varietal. These wines were tasting blindly without anyone knowing which wine was which and were then scored. California won the event placing American winemaking on the map and the rest we say is history. Delight your palate as you taste through a series of wines during our recreation of this iconic event to see if history is due to repeat itself. Cost is $30 per person. Guests must be at least 21 years of age. Advanced sign up is required.

From the Land to the Bottle ($)
8:30pm
You don’t have to be a real estate agent to know some locations have an undeniable edge over others – and there is no exception to this when it comes to wine. The beauty of the wine begins far before it hits your lips. The magic begins in the vineyard and starts with the soil. Taste your way through some of the regions of California to find out what makes each varietal unique. Disclosure – this tasting has been known to cause vacations to Sonoma.
