The Mystery of the Sphinx: New Evidence with Egyptologist and author John Anthony West – 8:30pm
In his first presentation, Mr. West introduces his revolutionary theory redating - via geology - the Great Sphinx of Giza (back at least to 10,000 BC and probably earlier) and discusses its profound implications for history and for the evolution of human civilization. Initially unanimously hailed by geologists when the scientific evidence was presented before the Geological Society of America's annual convention in 1991, it aroused fierce controversy in Egyptological and Archaeological circles, who argued that a vastly older Sphinx was impossible because, at that early date, it was all hunter-gatherers incapable of major construction in stone. But a spectacular recent discovery in Turkey at Goebekli Tepe effectively provides the “smoking gun” evidence to establish the theory once and for all. This massive field of substantial stone circles has been dated by the archeologists on the site at ca. 10,000 BC … putting an end to the hunter-gatherer objection. At issue now is a total revision of the accepted view of human history and of the level of knowledge available to humanity in distant pre-historical times. West details these exciting new developments.

Symbolist Egypt, Part I: The Science of Immortality with Egyptologist and author John Anthony West – 8:30pm
An introduction to the sacred science of ancient Egypt, the body of knowledge responsible for Egypt's temples and pyramids --which move us, even in ruins, because their builders were masters of an ancient sacred science; a science of cosmic principles. This knowledge was expressed in geometry, measure, harmony and proportion, and through myth and symbolism. The result was literally magical. West will summarize the elements of this great ancient doctrine that fused art, science, philosophy and religion into one coherent whole –all in the service of the single issue that motivated Egypt over its millennial history: the immortality (or potential immortality) of the soul.
He will show that, almost certainly, the doctrine was a legacy from a still earlier civilization certainly existing in Egypt (as the ancient Egyptians themselves asserted) or possibly even corresponding to Plato's fabled 'Atlantis'.

Symbolist Egypt, Part II: Realizing the Doctrine with Egyptologist and author John Anthony West – 8:30pm
This concluding lecture will be a richly illustrated, hands-on, esoteric travelogue. We “travel” through Egypt’s profusion of pyramids, temples and tombs, arguably the richest trove of artistic and architectural masterpieces the planet has yet produced, with West explaining the doctrine in action as we go: Egypt’s gods and goddesses, not as figments of primitive superstition, but rather as embodiments of cosmic principles… the next best thing to actually going to Egypt on one of John’s tours and taking two weeks to absorb the experience. At the end, the difference between what we like to call “progress” and what used to be called “civilization” will be unmistakable … an exhilarating, but sometimes sobering, realization.
