Jo Coppola-Griffiths, Handwriting Analyst - May 29th - 31st

Handwriting Analysis is a science that links hand to brain, thoughts to emotions, heart to soul. Jo believes in its’ power to uncover the deeper self, to view the expansiveness of a person’s truth, and to heal. Handwriting is not a thing of the past, but a threshold to one’s intimate portrait of self, and a never ending way of communicating and sharing one’s voice regardless who receives the message. Join us for a workshop that will raise  awareness of how science combines with art and transforms individual meaning and purpose. Jo Coppola is a Graduate Handwriting Analyst and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She has been teaching handwriting analysis workshops over the past 24 years and is working on a book project that will explore why handwriting is still so vital and linked to wellness, more than ever.

The Sacredness of the Mandala: Analyzing the Intimate Arena of the Soul Through Art & Expressive Language
8:30pm
“The mandala is an archetypal image whose occurrence is attested throughout the ages. It signifies the wholeness of Self.”   Carl G. Jung, from Memories, Dreams, and Reflections.
In this weekend workshop, participants will have the opportunity to create and interpret their unique mandala, with information and instruction on this specific art therapy form and healing modality. Art therapy is especially useful for people in trauma, working through grief, depression, and anxiety. Mandala art unleashes a sacred core of healing power that addresses the understanding of the subconscious mind’s need to feel right about self, and to feel connected to life that is all around us. Mandalas are simple, efficient and unique to each personality. They provide insight and discovery, connecting us each to one other and all life in the universe. They represent the sun, the moon, the planets, the circle of life, and every living organism. Rules do not apply to this form of art!

Jo will provide materials that will guide participants to examine their own interpretations with instruction on how mandala art can be used in therapy as a healing modality. Jo will also guide the intuitive process to explore mandala stories with  personal writings that will accompany mandala creations with journaling, matching art with written words, widening the tools in the process of healing expression through art and writing.

The goal of this workshop is to give the participant another tool in the symbolic toolbox in working with clients in healing. Art is always an expression of the inner workings of the human personality. When explained, mandala art can be useful to guide a person to expose the trappings that people often find themselves- stuck in holding patterns that do not compliment the inner work they desire: to explore, uncover, move forward, connect, and heal.
