A New Age of Precaution

As we strive to serve our guests, our fellow team members and our communities, we aim first to empathize. We understand that these unchartered territories can bring stress, uncertainty, and more. With that in mind, we hope to help ease any worries you may have.

Health & Safety

First and foremost, The Lodge at Woodloch is dedicated to the health and safety of our guests and staff. We are proactively monitoring the recent situation of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and are following best practice guidelines and hospitality service protocols issued by the CDC, World Health Organization (WHO), OSHA and local and national government advisors.  We have committed to the Pocono Promise and American Hotel & Lodging Association's (AHLA) Safe Stay program to ensure that we are adhering to industry standards and community safety.

In addition to our on-site certified Safety Director, we also have contracted with East Coast Risk Management to assist in establishing effective health and safety protocols at our resort.  We are holding ongoing trainings for our team, and we have a strict prevention program ensuring that any staff with signs of an illness stay home until cleared for work by medical professionals.

Precautionary Efforts

  • As guided by OSHA, all staff will wear masks during their time on property and will have their temperature checked upon arriving to work each day.
  • Guests will have their temperature taken on arrival to The Lodge at Woodloch. Masks are required in all public indoor locations and any outdoor location where social distancing cannot be maintained. Masks are not required when using the water features or for outdoor fitness classes & activities as long as social distancing is maintained.
  • Existing and enhanced housekeeping procedures for cleanliness and sanitization (including EPA-approved disinfectant) that meet and exceed industry best practices and standards have been instituted on a heightened schedule.
  • We are actively monitoring and capping class and activity sizes.
  • We will be providing daily briefings and updates to our internal teams as the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation evolves.
  • We will continue frequent deep cleaning of common areas and frequent touchpoints such as: handles, faucets, trash-receptacle touchpoints, light fixtures, remote controls, elevators, buttons, keypads, luggage carts, and counters.
  • Additional hand sanitizing stations have been placed in common areas throughout the property.
  • The Lodge at Woodloch’s Safety Services team, who are all trained in advanced first aid and are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, are up-to-date on the latest developments on COVID-19 as reported by local, state, and federal agencies.

Before You Stay

During this time, if you are planning to visit our property, but are presenting COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath), have recently been exposed to someone with COVID-19, have cold or flu symptoms, or have a compromised immune system, we ask that you please reschedule your vacation for another date.

A new recommendation has been made suggesting visitors from these states need to self isolate for 14 days upon entering the state of Pennsylvania.

We will have a new pre-arrival checklist reminding guests to take their temperature and monitor their exposure prior to arrival. Prior to arrival, guests will be contacted and asked if they or anyone in their traveling party are experiencing any of the established symptoms of Covid-19. These symptoms will be updated regularly to maintain consistency with CDC guidance.  If a guest or member of the traveling party, or household, is experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19, or has within the last 72 hours, they will be asked to refrain from traveling to The Lodge at Woodloch and their vacation will be rescheduled or refunded at no cost to the guest.

The Lodge at Woodloch has never been so glad to welcome you through our doors while fully understanding that we are in a new age of precaution.  As a company that truly prides itself on warm, genuine, and luxurious hospitality, the way we welcome you may feel a little different than you have come to expect.

Guest Experience

While this situation is very fluid and sometimes changes daily, we will do our best to communicate our efforts and share what to expect during your next visit.  While we will be anticipating your return with our same level of good-natured warmth, the way it comes across may feel a little different due to our heightened protocols.  Staff will be wearing masks and therefore our bright smiles may be hidden from view, but rest-assured, they are there. New efforts for social distancing will be in place, valet parking will be paused for the time being, and all classes will require sign-up to encourage smaller class sizes and ensure ample space. Additional time will be added between classes to allow for cleaning/sanitizing between classes and new options will be available for dining.

While you have entrusted us with your best interest in mind, we are also placing our trust in you.  We ask that each guest take responsibility for their own actions and adhere strictly to social distancing guidelines. We trust that you will wash your hands frequently, and only attend classes and offerings that you feel comfortable in, which helps to show that we are in this together.  Your actions affect others just as our actions affect our guests and staff.
