The Lodge at Woodloch is excited to announce its first-ever Women's Wellness Week, which will take place between May 17-25. Are Hormones Really Dangerous? with Anne Fulenwider & Sheryl Kraft

Hormone replacement therapy used to be the “treatment of choice” for treating menopausal symptoms. But after the first results of the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) went public in 2002, toilets were flushed around the world, as women panicked and discarded their pills in fear of breast cancer and cardiovascular events. We set the record straight and explain in layman’s terms, what went terribly wrong and why this study was severely flawed. We’ll also talk about non-hormonal alternatives and other ways to treat the symptoms of menopause.

Lori Fish Bard, MS, CNS, LDN, is a licensed clinical nutritionist and board-certified integrative health counselor who works with men, women, children, and families to provide a personalized, highly supportive blueprint to help them identify and accomplish their health goals.  Lori uses a holistic, functional, and integrative approach to help develop sustainable habits to live a healthy, nourished and balanced life.  Her interests include digestive and gut health, metabolic syndrome, thyroid health, autoimmunity, celiac disease/gluten sensitivity and food allergies. Lori offers individual nutrition coaching, group coaching programs, seasonal cleanses, cooking demonstrations and wellness workshops.  Through all these platforms, Lori loves sharing the gift of improved health with her clients. Lori received her Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition & Integrative Health from the Maryland University for Integrative Health (MUIH). She is licensed by the Board of Dietetic Practice of the State of Maryland.  She received her training and certification in integrative health coaching from the internationally recognized training program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York City.  She is a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP) and a member of the International Association for Health Coaches (IAHC). A former magazine editor, she’s worked at The Paris Review and Vanity Fair and served as the editor-in-chief of Marie Claire. While at Marie Claire, she launched a conference for entrepreneurs called The Power Trip. After her mother died of a sudden heart attack in 2016, she became motivated to make an impact on women’s health. Inspired by all the people she’s met who are disrupting industries and building a better world for women, she became an entrepreneur herself in 2020, intending to change the conversation around women’s post-reproductive health.
