Where to Go Hiking on a Poconos Fall Vacation

Found in the Pocono Mountains, The Lodge, Destination Spa at Woodloch is surrounded by endless natural beauty. Our all-inclusive resort is perfect for everyone from couples to friends looking to trade in the hustle and bustle of everyday life for the sounds of nature. Our resort and the surrounding Poconos region become even more breathtaking when fall arrives. From exploring our property to hiking a nearby trail, there are plenty of places to explore that showcase the colors of the season.

Poconos Hiking Trails and Paths to Explore

Our Poconos resort is home to its own picturesque paths and areas to explore. Explore The Sanctuary, a land preserve we purchased in 2018 that features a stream, swamp, and unique flora not found in other areas of our property. There’s also the Blackmore Property, which is where our farm-to-table garden is located. We also have six miles of trails to hike at your leisure.

If you’re looking for even more places to go leaf peeping, there are several incredible options to choose from.

  • The Wallenpaupack Creek Trail, which is about 1.5 miles each way, takes you along the creek, offering incredible water views.

  • Found in nearby Lakeville, the Shuman Point Hiking Trail is a roughly three-mile loop with lake views and rocky beaches.

  • Enjoy free parking and an easy walk to Shohola Falls. Hike the short trail that runs parallel to the waterfall.

  • For a number of trails all in one spot, visit Promised Land State Park. Here, you’ll find forests comprised of oak and maple trees and two lakes that add to the park’s scenic beauty.

  • The Lacawac Sanctuary features well-marked nature preserve trails that take you past ponds. This is a great option for wildlife-watching.

You don’t have to explore these trails on your own. We offer off-property guided hikes. Check our schedule to see what outings are taking place during your fall vacation.
