Brian Freedman is a wine, spirits, travel, and food writer; restaurant, beverage, and sustainability consultant; wine and spirits educator; and event host and speaker. He is a regular contributor to Food & Wine, Forbes.com, and Whisky Advocate, and a staff writer and taster for JamesSuckling.com, for which he reviews more than 300 wines each month. Brian has contributed to Napa Magazine, The Tasting Panel, Travel + Leisure online, Departures, Wine Enthusiast, The Bourbon Review, and more. His first book, “Crushed: How A Changing Climate Is Altering the Way We Drink,” was published in hardback in 2022 and paperback in 2024. Shortly after its initial release, “Crushed” became one of the top-selling wine books on Amazon. Publishers Weekly praised it as “a must-read,” and The New York Times recommended it to help readers understand how climate change is impacting the world of wine. He has consulted for restaurants on their beverage programs, hosts in-person and virtual wine and spirits events for corporate and private clients around the country, and has traveled to nearly 60 countries and territories around the world, and extensively throughout the United States, to experience the food, drink, and culture for his work.

In this engaging session with wine and spirits educator, Brian Freedman, we’ll go beyond discussion to experience the impact firsthand, sampling a curated selection of wines from across the globe that reflect these evolving conditions. Discover how shifting temperatures, unpredictable weather patterns, and changing growing regions are influencing flavors, styles, and winemaking traditions.
