September 2020:
Yoga & Balance

With both National Yoga Month and the Autumn Equinox falling in September, this month naturally lends itself to a focus on balance. The Autumn Equinox is one of only two days a year when day and night are equal in length, when the Sun’s yearly cycle is perfectly balanced between the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Whether balancing on a mat or in a kayak, this month we celebrate finding that perfect center.

Full Corn Moon

September 2nd
Because we take our cues from nature, we have developed a Full Moon Series for 2020. Each month, we will pay homage to the beauty & wonderment that each unique full moon brings.

Attributed to Native Americans, this full Moon marked when corn was supposed to be harvested. Most often, the September full Moon is actually the Harvest Moon,
but when the autumnal equinox falls late, September’s Moon is the Full Corn Moon.

Full Moon Yoga: This yoga practice will calm the mind and draw your awareness inward. Moon Salutations are useful when energy is high and a tranquil, quiet presence is required. All Levels Welcome.

Outdoor Watercolor Painting: Enjoy an evening painting outside while the Full Corn Moon sheds its light.  You will create your landscape using compact watercolor sets.  This class is weather permitting and will be moved indoors in case of inclement weather.

Full Moon Kayaking: Paddle under the silvery light of the Full Corn Moon.  Discover Little Lake Teedyuskung while listening to the paddles gently glide through the water and looking to the sky. This kayak expedition is a true celestial experience!
